FAN OF THE MONTH - JUNE 2022

MEET FAN OF THE MONTH, MAC
1. How long have you been listening to Set It Off?
I first became a fan of Set It Off in 2016.
2. Where did you discover Set It Off?
Luke Hemmings of 5SOS was wearing ATWAB globe shorts in photos and i decided to look up what they meant. I’ve been hooked since then!
3. How has Set It Off affected your life?
Set It Off has always been comfort for me. They've been in my corner ever since I found them. They were the perfect band to listen to for any emotion I was feeling. They helped me feel less alone in the world. They made me feel like even though life sucked, they would still have my back. They were a constant I could always depend on. They helped me battle my depression, suicidal thoughts, and even get through being bullied when I was young. They helped me cling to sanity when I was being stalked and abused. They even helped me channel my rage and come out of all of those unfortunate events stronger & more sure of myself. This band means so much to me. Whenever I have a panic attack, I put on the Duality album and by the end of it, I've managed to calm down again. This band inspires me to stick up for myself and to keep going.
While I don't know much about the band members themselves, (I only know stuff from meeting them & listening to Talk It Off) they still seem like genuinely good people who care about their fans. And I love that about them. When I met them during VIP, they were so sweet & made sure to treat every fan with the same energy.
4. What was the best Set It Off show you’ve ever been to & why?
The best performance I've ever been to is honestly the only performance I've ever been to. I went to the Cleveland House of Blues during the elsewhere your back in February of this year. I remember it felt so magical and enchanting to be there. I finally got to meet Cody, Maxx, and Zach, people who I've admired for a long time. Seeing them perform songs I've long since memorized live and being able to show my support by screaming the lyrics felt amazing. And it showed the amount of thought and effort that was put into the performance too. I loved every second of it, even the openers. Everyone was amazing & the fans I talked to while I was there were so sweet & kind. I would so love to go to another show. The experience was 1000/10💚
5. If you could give Set It Off a message - what would it be?
I suppose if I could tell the band anything, it would be to thank them. They don't know me but their music & content mean a lot to me. I wish they're doing well, practicing self-care, and drinking lots of water- especially while on tour. I hope they're having amazing days today & if they aren't, I hope they have a comforting meal they can eat to lift their spirits up. I am forever eternal they exist & I am so glad Set It Off exists. And finally, I wish them further success and happiness in wherever they decide to take the band and their lives.
6. What’s your favorite Set It Off song?
Anyways, moving on from my rambling, my favorite song has always changed. I remember my first favorite one was Nightmare, but then it was N.M.E., and it's jumped around a lot since then. Currently though, it's Third Wheel. Every time I hear that song I am like "yes I will grab this day by the dick". It's just one of those hype songs.
7. Any requests/ideas/feedback on the fan club?
As for feedback on the fan club, it would be nice to get more videos like the mad libs & the whisper challenge ones. Or just generally the guys messing around & having fun. I understand if they're busy though, it's a lot to set aside time for videos like those on top of everything else. It would also be nice to see them post in the forum once in a while, not often, just like a comment here & a question there. It would feel more personal, you know. Other than that I don't really have any other ideas/suggestions.
